Kris Nelson - PT, MPT, CHT Clinic Director/Owner
Kris is the Director and assumed ownership of the clinic in 2014. He brings more than a decade of experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting, and delivers personalized solutions to his patients. After earning his Master of Physical Therapy from the University Of North Dakota in 1999, Kris has honed a diverse set of physical therapy skills. He counts foot and ankle rehabilitation, including the fabrication of custom orthotics as well as sports specific rehabilitation as an area of special interest. He has extensive experience in general orthopedics with emphasis in manual therapy, knee and shoulder rehabilitation, and golf rehabilitation and performance enhancement. Kris utilizes his expertise in a multimodal treatment approach that has proved to be effective with his patients.
In 2015, Kris earned his Certified Hand Therapy (CHT) certification by the nationally recognized Hand Therapy Certification Commission. As a CHT, he specializes in treatment of the upper extremity and has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession. Through continuing education and training, Kris remains knowledgeable about preventive care, current surgical techniques, post-surgery therapy programs, and fabrication of custom upper extremity splints.
When Kris is not helping patients, he takes advantage of Sweetwater County’s beauty with activities such as hiking, camping, golf, and floating the Green River. Kris and his wife Stacey have two children, son Camden and daughter Brinley.
Micah Maly - PT, DPT
Micah joined Fremont Therapy Group in 2017. He has worked in orthopedic settings and gained hospital and neurological experience while doing traveling therapy work. He enjoys finding ways to improve his patient's quality of life and loves to empower them to live healthier lives and move better in all aspects of their daily activities. Micah thrives in rural settings like Rawlins because it gives him an opportunity to work with a variety of conditions and patients ranging from children to seniors.
Micah earned his doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in May 2015. His undergraduate degree is in Sports and Exercise Science with biology and psychology minors from the University of Northern Colorado. Micah plans to pursue certifications in sports, orthopedics and patients with neurological conditions. He has experience in strength and conditioning as well as with patients with neurological conditions like MS, Parkinson's and vestibular conditions as well as cancer patients.
When he’s not treating patients, you can find him in the gym working on personal fitness and weightlifting, or in the outdoors hiking, camping, boating, fishing. He’s also enjoys participating in and/or watching sports.
Nick Hastert - PT, DPT
Nick enjoys treating patients of all ages in a variety of clinical areas, including post-operative, orthopedics, and balance/vestibular disorders. He has advanced training in dry needling and spinal manipulation techniques and continually adds to his skill set through ongoing training and education. He practices an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment to help patients improve function and movement, and decrease pain.
Nick is a Green River native and is happy to be treating patients in his hometown. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of North Dakota and his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming. Nick became interested in physical therapy after spending time as a patient with knee injuries. He also worked as a physical therapy tech as he pursued his education.
When Nick is not helping patients, he spends time playing and watching sports, and he enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, backpacking, and skiing. You also will often find him out with his chocolate lab, Clementine.
Elisa Detling - Physical Therapist Assistant
Elisa is a Physical Therapist Assistant in our Green River/Rock Springs locations, and will join the Rawlins crew soon. She enjoys working with various types of orthopedic cases utilizing mostly therapeutic exercise and manual therapies to return the patient to their prior level of function. Elisa has completed advanced training in kinesiology taping and is certified in Smart Tools IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) in which she uses to treat a variety of injuries limited by acute and chronic pain. IASTM technique is commonly used to decrease abnormal tissue densities, increase neuromuscular function, decrease swelling, and reinstate first stage healing. The tools she uses are the only FDA certified metal tools in the market today. Elisa pushes her patients to become physically stronger and pain free so they are able to return to the things they love doing. The patient’s success and being able to achieve things they never thought physically possible is why Elisa loves being a physical therapist assistant.
Elisa has been practicing physical therapy for 5 years after receiving her Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science from Black Hills State University and completing her Physical Therapy Assistant degree in Cheyenne.
Elisa is a Nebraska native, and just recently relocated to Rawlins after practicing in South Dakota.When not in clinic, Elisa has passion for outdoor activities such as hiking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and running. You will also find her out supporting Rawlins football team--the head coach and the team are very important to her. Go Outlaws!
Tracie Fuss Patient Care Coordinator
Tracie is the administrative lead in the Green River clinic. Her warm smile and fun personality are a favorite of our Green River patients. Tracie takes pride in customer service, making sure patients are scheduled and all their questions are addressed with kindness. Tracie loves seeing how physical therapy helps people recover from injury and is proud to be a part of the process of patient success.
Tracie attended Western Wyoming Community College and is a licensed pharmacy technician. After many years in the pharmacy industry, she is excited to learn and contribute to the world of physical therapy.
Tracie is a Green River native. She and her husband stay busy chasing their two younger kids around the state for various sporting events. She also visits Idaho frequently where her oldest daughter and son-in-law reside. Tracie is a crafty gal who enjoys home decoration as a way to calm her crazy life.
Jake Flores - Physical Therapy Tech
Jake recently graduated from UW with a BS in Kinesiology and a Minor in Psychology. Originally from Green River, he returned to work as a PTT while he gains experience and applies to PT school.
Jake has always been fascinated with how the body moves and loves helping people. He knows he can make more of an impact on individuals who need it by expanding his scope of practice as a physical therapist in the future.
When he's not in the Green River Clinic, you can find him by the lake or in the mountains, hiking, fishing...basically anything in the outdoors.
Sierra Nussbaum Physical Therapy Tech
Sierra admires the complexity and intricacy of human body movement. Currently, Sierra is applying to an accelerated nursing program at the University of Wyoming and coaching the Green River High School boys and girls swimming/diving teams. Her ultimate professional goal is to provide Cardiac Rehabilitation care to patients of all ages--improving their quality of life through exercise prescription and health education.
Sierra has a long history of competitive swimming and water safety instruction, which makes aquatic therapy one of her preferred forms of treatment. Helping patients transform their weaknesses into their strengths is Sierra’s favorite part of therapy.
Sierra, who was raised in Green River, recently graduated from Washington State University with BS in Kinesiology and Minor in Strength and Conditioning.
While not in the pool or studying, Sierra enjoys hiking, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Ally Davis - Marketing Director
Ally worked in the background for several years helping Fremont Therapy Group and is now the Director of Marketing for all five clinics. She implements marketing strategies, manages digital marketing & social media and oversees campaigns, PR and events. Ally also helps foster relationships in the communities where we treat and care for patients.
Ally was born and raised in Lander, Wyoming and left to attend college at the University of Montana right after high school. After graduating with a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism she worked as a TV reporter for three years in Missoula. She then moved to Los Angeles to work in the entertainment industry while her husband attended PT school. After spending 8 years away, she returned to Lander to work at a local software and marketing company.
Ally loves living in Wyoming close to friends, family and good people. She enjoys helping businesses tell their stories through marketing and media. When she’s not at work you can find her hosting dinner parties, capturing life via camera, and traveling with her husband & twin boys.
Stacey Nelson - Marketing
After numerous years working in the science education field, Stacey is now focusing her efforts on helping Fremont Therapy Group continue to grow and provide exemplary care to the people of Wyoming.
Stacey works with the therapists to ensure accurate billing of services for our patients. In addition, she serves as a liaison for referral sources in Sweetwater County, making certain our patients receive the best treatment possible.
Stacey is a Wyoming native and often can be found photographing unsuspecting wildlife, floating the Green River, hiking, and chasing her one canine kid and two human kids around town.
